A shared understanding
Terms of use.
Last updated 18 October 2026 · Lifeline is in development.
This website introduces Lifeline, a cogon.studio project for nearby Bluetooth communication. These terms describe its current scope and operating limits. They do not announce general app availability, a paid service, or emergency-response coverage.
Development and availability
Lifeline is under development for iOS and Android. Broad emergency launch remains paused while required physical-device validation and independent review are incomplete. Examples and illustrations on this website are explanatory; they are not live requests, delivery evidence, or a record of rescue.
Not an emergency service
Lifeline has no staffed dispatch team and does not replace official emergency services, a local emergency plan, or professional advice. An SOS created in the app does not automatically call an emergency number. Any configured official-call action is separate and depends on available phone service.
Communication has limits
Bluetooth communication needs compatible participating devices, the required permissions, and operating-system conditions that allow it. Distance, obstacles, battery restrictions, and device state can interrupt it. Background operation is best effort; force-quit or force-stop prevents operation until relaunch. There is no promised coverage, continuous operation, or delivery time.
Receipts and responses
“Reached a Device” is evidence about another device, not a person. A responder viewing a request and a responder accepting help are separate events. A commitment can be withdrawn and is not proof of arrival. Device Identity does not establish a person’s real-world identity or qualifications.
Responsible participation
Use any test build only within the agreed testing scope. Do not submit false emergency requests, impersonate others, or share another person’s sensitive information without permission. Relaying content does not create a responsibility to respond. Do not put yourself or others at risk to carry a message or offer assistance.
Privacy and changes
Review the privacy page before sharing information. App behavior and these pages can change as development and validation continue. Any future public distribution or commercial offering will need its own accurate availability and service information.
